advance one soil boring to 15 ' bgl , and four ( 4 ) soil borings to <br /> about 40 ' below ground level at the approximate locations shown <br /> on PLATE VIII <br /> 3 Soil samples will be taken at 5 foot intervals from 10 ' to <br /> bottom using a California Modified split-spoon sampler or similar <br /> equipment designed to hold standard metal tubes for proper preser- <br /> vation of the cores <br /> 4 One ( 1 ) sample tube from each cored interval will be briefly <br /> described, the ends promptly covered with foil or teflon tape , <br /> sealed with plastic caps , and securely wrapped with duct tape <br /> The samples will be labeled and preserved on ice pending trans- <br /> port to a State Certified laboratory for analysis <br /> 5 Drill cuttings and unpreserved core material will be placed <br /> in properly marked and sealed drums and stored on site pending <br /> the results of the laboratory analysis <br /> 6 At the completion of operations , all auger holes will be <br /> grouted from bottom to the surface with a cement/bentonite slurry <br /> using a tremae pipe or other suitable method, as directed and <br /> witnessed by a representative of the County EHD <br /> • 7 The preserved core samples will be transported under chain of <br /> custody to FGL Environmental laboratory Instructions will be <br /> given to test the samples from SOIL BORINGS, #2 , 3, 4 , & 5 for <br /> BTEX, (EPA 8020 , ) TPH-G, (EPA 8015M, ) EDB, (EPA 8020 , ) and total <br /> lead (EPA 7420 ) Samples from SOIL BORING #1 will be tested only <br /> for total lead, (EPA 7420 ) Detection limits to be those speci- <br /> fied by the San Joaquin County EHD <br /> 8 After reviewing the field work and analyzing laboratory <br /> results , a report will be prepared and submitted to the County <br /> EHD for appropriate action <br /> We have been informed by Mr Tom O' Neil , representative of Mr <br /> Hyduke , that the encroachment permit has been issued by the City <br /> of Stockton Therefore, after your review and approval of this <br /> addendum, and the filing of the drilling permit application , we <br /> will contact the contractor and schedule the work as soon as <br /> possible Your office will be contacted at least 48 hours prior <br /> to commencement of drilling <br /> l� GCS �o cE��oe�� <br /> Wm J Hunter & Associates <br /> � WILLIMIJ HUHFEA <br /> Ma 17 , 1994 <br /> .
