Earnest F. Smith
Civil Engineers
5355 Solari Ranch Rd.
Stockton, Ca. 95215
May 5, 1999
FOR Morehead, Sally J.
Re: Soil Suitability Study
Project: APN 007-150-26
Subject: Percolation Testing
On April 15, 1999 percolation tests began on Parcel 1,2 & 3 at 25150 N. Sowles Rd. The location
of the test area for each parcel was approximately 100'from the roadway and centered along the
frontage of each parcel.
Mr. Ted Norgard, R.E.H.S., Environmental Health Division, was present for the critical readings.
The testing was performed in accordance with the Divisions percolation test procedures.
The 6" holes were drilledo ril 14, and filled with water for the required presoak period. On
April 15, at approximate) ! s the holes were inspected. The test hole for the northerly
parcel was approximately '/2 full. The test holes on the other parcels were empty of water. It was
decided to test only Parcel 2 and 3. Parcel 1 would require a 25' hole and percolation
accordingly. The sanitarian verified the water depth in the northerly parcel test hole and agreed to
postpone the test.(Parcel 1)
A test hole for soil profile was dug to refusal with a hand auger. The depth to hardpan was 50"
and refusal at 53".
The est results are shown on Form EH 05 119/84(90) attached. The soil as tested for Parcels 1
2 J
an. %indicates it is conducive to percolation of clear sewage effluent. Parcel 1 test results of May
C6 11, 1999 indicate sand at approximately 6. (See log of test borings for May 6, 1999) The strata
and percolation test results indicate it is conducive to satisfactory percolation of clear effluent.
Drilling on Parcel 1 was by Valley Drilling, Galt, Ca. See report for additional comments.
Please find attached Boring Log(s) and Testing Report.
, J j,ST F
Earnest F. Smith, P.E.
