Trillin. Common name: Trifluralin,Treflan. Half-lives in the environment:
Groundwater: degradation time 9 days (d). Surface water: 21 minutes.
Soil: Half-lives in clay loam are 4-5 d, with persistence to 6 mos.
Phytolysis: Under optimum exposure conditions to natural sunlight, half
life is approx. 22 minutes in direct sunlight.
Goal. Common name: Oxyfluorfen. Half-lives in the environment: Air: 10.6 hrs.
Surface water: 3.0-300 hrs. Groundwater: 3.0-1440 hrs. Soil: 97-251 hrs in
dry soil, 4458-4688 hrs in saturated soil.
Gramoxone. Common name: Paraquat: Half-lives in the environment: Not available1
Prowl. Common name:Rendiniethalin. Half-lives in the environment: Not
available.
Sulfur. Relatively non-toxic. May slightly irritate skin. Sulfur is utilized by
virtually all living organisms for cellular synthesis.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
From visual observations, there is no surface contamination. The probability of subsurface
contamination from pesticides can be regarded as low-to-nonexistent, considering the
environmental fate data and soil type. Additionally, the likelihood of high nitrate concentration
in the underlying groundwater is also low. Therefore we do not recommend the well water
tested for a multi-residue pesticide screen consisting of analysis for Dinitroanaline, Triazine,
Organochlorine and Organophosphates.
The subject property is within a delineated area in which all new wells must have a grout seal to
200 tbet As referenced, future impact from the Harney landfill is unknown. If a new well
should a drilled on Parcel 1, we recommend that the Envirofimental Health Department be
contacted to ensure that grouting requirements have not changed. If water from the well on
future Parcel 1 should become discolored, odorous, a change in taste, or produce skin reactions,
we recommend the water be tested immediately for inorganic and organic constituents.
It is our opinion that contamination originating from the existing septic tank is highly unlikely.
Contamination from a tank is usually dependent upon the age and type of tank construction
material. The next time the tank is pumped out,the sewage contractor can checys integrity.
The density of septic systems in the surrounding area is very low. This, in combination with the
fact that the groundwater is comparably deep, should indicate no concern from septic effluent.
The septic tank and leachfield(assumed) are over 100 feet from the domestic well.
Asbestos containing materials (ACM)testing from any portion of the existing buildings is
outside the scope of this investigation. If the buildings are ever demolished, testing for ACMs
should be done at that time.
4
`Uaffey Aq Pf search
