3.6 Laboratory Analytical Results
The soil and groundwater samples collected during this investigation were preserved on
ice and submitted to Sparger Technology, Inc. following standard sample-preservation
and Chain-of-Custory procedures. A summary of the analytical results is presented in
Table 1 and 2. The laboratory analytical reports are presented in Appendix B.
The Total Recoverable Hydrocarbon analysis (EPA 418.1) of the four soil samples
revealed detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in the range of 47 parts per
million (ppm) to 110 ppm (Table 1). The four groundwater samples exhibited non-
detectable levels by EPA 418.1 (Table 2). The laboratory analyses of Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons for gasoline constituents (TPH-G) and Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene
and Xylene compounds (BTEX) revealed non-detectable levels in all eight soil and
groundwater samples tested. One soil sample (B-4) analyzed for Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons in the diesel range (TPH-D) exhibited a non-detectable result (Table 1).
The B-4 soil sample was analyzed for TPH-D to determine the specific hydrocarbon
constituent detected by the EPA 418.1 analysis.
Chain-of-Custody forms and laboratory results are presented in Appendix C.
8
