KLEINFELDER <br /> JENNIFER LYNN YOUNG <br /> Staff Geologist <br /> Summary of Experience <br /> Miss Young has four years of research at the Urdversity of Nevada, Reno, involving waste <br /> containment and microscopic gold exploration at Round Mountain, in the Toquima Range. <br /> USGS Bureau of Mines cartography department updating maps involving the Rattlesnake Range <br /> and Quinn Canyon Range in northeastern Nevada. Geotech experience consists of nuclear <br /> gauge testing. soil logging, and laboratory work. Geological consulting assistant at the Kitacorp <br /> Copper Mine in Ruth,Nevada: Smiley Face Mine in Ely, Nevada; and an economic consultant at <br /> Atlas Gold Mine in central Nevada. Part of her work includes evaluating past and present uses of <br /> properties to assess potential environmental liabilities. Projects she is involved in have included <br /> researching local. state and federal regulatory agencies for information regarding hazardous <br /> materials use, -eneration, storage and disposal. <br /> Education <br /> BS University of Nevada. Reno_ 1987; Geological Sciences <br /> Extended Education <br /> Two classes through the University of Nevada, Reno, Macky School of Mines. in the subject <br /> area of waste containment at Yucca Mountain and other intended sites for nuclear waste. <br /> Select Project Experience <br /> A representative sample selection of Miss Young's project experience is included below. <br /> Phase 1 EnWroninental Site Assessment, 10 mile corridor of Highway 99, Stockton, California. <br /> L The property is located from the Highway 4/Highway 99 junction, north bound, to Hammer <br /> Lane. The property includes agricultural land, residential properties, industrial properties and <br /> 1 commercial businesses. The corridor under assessment is proposed to add two traffic lanes, one <br /> in the south bound direction and one north.bound direction. The assessment consistes of site <br /> reconnaissance: research of local. state and federal regulating agencies for environmental hazards <br /> Lin the area; aerial photographs: and historical topographic maps. <br /> Phase 1 Environinental Site .4sse.csment, 600 acre area of land, Stockton, California. This <br /> property is an area currently experiencing a transition from agricultural use to residential uses. A <br /> site inspection indicated that several environmental concerns were present on the property. <br /> These concerns included historical and present pesticide and herbicide use. Adjacent property <br /> included an above �(Tround storage tank and many 55-gallon drums of unknown substances. <br /> Information provided by Miss Young's investigation enabled the client to evaluate the risks <br /> posed by these concerns. and contributed to a successful resolution of the environmental issues. <br /> L_ <br /> << <br /> Staff Geologist/4/99 <br />
