RACCA Area Environmental Manager/Client Service Manager Summary of Experience Laurie Racca is a geologist with 8 years of environmental project experience specializing in evaluation of properties for real estate transactions. Ms. Racca has a Bachelor of - Science degree in geology, with continuing education in hazardous waste management, asbestos, radon, and lead-based paint. Her responsibilities include project management and technical support for Phase 1 ESAs, asbestos surveys and abatement projects, and assessment of soil and groundwater contamination. Conducted a Phase I ESA of a 362 acre beet sugar processing plant which began operation in 1916 resulting in twenty- nine recommendations for further assessment or mitigation. Environmental concerns included former plant operations and equipment maintenance, underground and above ground fuel storage, on-site landfills. buried debris, and agricultural operations. A field investigation program was developed to address the recommendations of the Phase I ESA. Assessment techniques included the collection of samples from 321 soil borings and surface sample locations, collection of discrete groundwater samples, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, soil-gas probes, and geophysical techniques. Statistical and risk assessment approaches were utilized to evaluate much of the data. Because of the impending sale of the property, the entire project was conducted on a fast track basis.
