3. BEDDING AND BACKFILL <br /> a. All Trusco SUPERTANKS shall be installed using an approved inert bedding <br /> and backfill material as specified below. <br /> Sand: Clean and free of debris <br /> Gravel: 3/4" or smaller rounded aggregate or pea gravel <br /> b. The excavation base shall be covered with a minimum of 12" approved <br /> bedding materials. <br /> C. WARNING: Placement of a tank directly on a holddown pad, on a pad <br /> smaller than the total tank area, or on intermediate supports (saddles) will <br /> cause uneven distribution of loads. This may contribute to structural failure <br /> and is never permitted. <br /> d. - The backfill shall be uniformly the same as the bedding materials and shall <br /> be placed along the bottom and sides of the tank in such a manner as to <br /> ensure the tank is fully and evenly supported. <br /> e. WARNING: Do not strike the FRP secondary containment with shovels, <br /> tamping tools, or equipment! <br /> 4. CONTRACTOR REVIEW OF TANK DELIVERY DOCUMENTATION <br /> a. The Trusco Tank delivery driver shall submit the following documentation <br /> to the contractor upon arrival at the tank installation job site: <br /> (1 ) Installation Instructions <br /> (2) Installation Checklist (one per tank) <br /> (3) Calibration Gage Chart (one per tank size) <br /> (4) Specification Sheet (one per tank) <br /> (5) Pressure Test Instructions (when applicable) <br /> b. The contractor shall compare the specification sheet with the actual tank <br /> to verify tank capacity, UL number, and nozzle and appurtenances <br /> configuration. <br /> C.
