•l n CAMBRIA Well Development/Sampling Blaine developed and purged the new wells on August 21, 2002 Blaine developed the wells using surge block agitation and pump evacuation Blaine sampled the new wells and the existing site wells on September 3, 2002 Blaine's field sheets, documenting the development and sampling events, are included in Appendix C Wellhead Survey Virgil Chavez Land Surveying of Vallejo, California surveyed the top of casing elevations for wells MW-8 and MW-9 relative to mean sea level and also surveyed their longitude and latitude on September 20, 2002 (Appendix E) Groundwater Flow Direction Cambria prepared a groundwater contour map using the water level measurement data from wells MW-1 through MW-11 collected on September 3, 2002 (Figure 3) Groundwater flow direction is easterly this quarter with an approximate hydraulic gradient of 0 003 HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN SOIL No TPHg, BTEX, or MTBE were detected in soil samples from well borings MW-8 and MW-9 Soil chemical analytical data are summarized in Table 2 and TPHg, benzene, and MTBE results are presented on Figure 2 Laboratory analytical reports are presented in Appendix D HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN GROUNDWATER Results from the third quarter 2002 groundwater monitoring event indicate that TPHg was detected in wells MW-3, MW-4, MW-6 through MW-11, and VEW-2 at concentrations ranging from 100 to 100,000 ppb The laboratory notes that the TPHg reported in wells MW-6 through MW-11 does not exhibit a typical gasoline chromatographic pattern Benzene was detected in wells MW-4, MW-6, MW-7, MW-9, and VEW-2 at concentrations ranging from 0 99 to 2,900 ppb MTBE was detected in wells MW-1 and MW-4 at concentrations of 0 90 and 8 6 ppb, respectively DIPE was detected in well MW4 at 19 ppb No other fuel oxygenates were detected in wells sampled this quarter • 0854 5
