CAMBRIA
The groundwater chemical analytical data are summarized in the well concentrations table in
Blaine's report (Appendix C) and in Table 3 Benzene and MTBE results are presented on
Figure 3 Laboratory analytical data are included in Blaine's report(Appendix C)
SENSITIVE RECEPTOR SURVEY ADDENDUM
Cambria issued a sensitive receptor survey in the January 11, 2002 Fourth Quarter 2001
Groundwater Monitoring/Site Investigation Report and Receptor Survey Four water production
wells (three domestic and one municipal) were identified through a review of Department of
Water Resources (DWR) records The closest well to the subject site is a domestic well located
approximately 450 feet northwest of the site A second domestic well is located 850 feet
northeast of the site Cambria performed a door-to-door survey to determine the status of these
wells
i
During the survey, Cambria spoke to residents at both locations and confirmed that neither of
these domestic wells is in use Both residences are serviced by City water and the wells are
either not functioning or not being used
• CONCLUSIONS
Soil results from the current investigation further delineate the lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons and MTBE southeast of the subject site
Wells MW-8 and MW-9 were installed to assess the lateral extent of impacted groundwater
southeast of the subject site Groundwater samples collected from these wells provide
delineation of benzene and MTBE The TPHg detections in these two wells, according to the lab
report, do not exhibit a typical gasoline pattern and may not be related the petroleum
hydrocarbon detected beneath the Shell site
RECOMMENDATIONS
Cambria recommends gauging and sampling wells MW-1 through MW-11 and VEW-2 quarterly
Groundwater samples from the wells will be analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, and MTBE quarterly
and for fuel oxygenates ETBE, TBA, DIPE, and TAME annually in the third quarter, according
to the existing sampling schedule
0854 6
