We will attempt to summarize the key
points of discussion in the following comments.
The following items will be included in the next quarterly report
which will be due February 28, 1992.
1. The well logs for the construction of Monitoring Well
(MW) 9 .
2 . Information regarding the disposal of purge water will
be included to reflect past as welll as future
disposals.
3 . A detailed description of the soil remediation
activities conducted on site; including dimensions of
the stockpiles, the manipulation, sperformed, locations
and results of confirmation sampling, and final
disposition of the soil.
The residual contaminants, in the soil east of the March 7, 1991
trench excavation and in the soil near MW4S. an' d MW4D, was
discussed at length. it is our understandingjjthat Mr..- Furnas,
WHF Environmental, will be proposing soil;'iborings to provide
further lateral definition of the contamih ati6n. (see enclosed
map) .
Information from previous groundwater studies (i.e. tliB 4 hour
elevation study and the March 2, 1991 pump test of 14W8)_-'-will be
presented in the final remediation plan (,PRP) The restAts of
the two 24 hour groundwater elevation studi4l along with tide
tables, when presented in the FRP, will confirm the gradient and
the placement of the up-gradient and downgradient monitoring
wells. If these results are not availablefor review,, ' monthly
measurements of groundwater elevations shbuldilbe performed within
the next regular quarterly reporting period, May 1992 . These
data will be compared to tide tables and .1 pres k nted in tabular
format within the FRP. Additionally, thdres,Ilts of the March 2 ,
1991 pump test of MW8 should be presentedigraphically to
illustrate the zone of influence of the test.'"
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Se rvkes If
