,
Union Ice Company - Weber Street
Phase II- Report of Findings
Page 8
CO-EFFICIENT OF T RA E
WELL THEIS JACOB
NA 4.1 X E-2
3 2.8 x E-3
4S 3.6 x E-3
75 7.6 x E-4 6.1 x E-4
9 6.6 x E-4 4 0 x E-4
There is amazing consistency between the calculated aquifer properties at each well,
when calculated by the three different metho(is. However, the aquifer properties at each
well vary greatly from those measured at adjacent wells. The grain size characteristics
and thickness of Sand 1 vary greatly across the site. it is not surprising then, that the
aquifer properties of this sand would vary greatly across the site. Because of this fact, it
would not be proper to assign an average T and S to the Sand t aquifer at this site.
REMEDIAL EXCAVATION/SOILS CONTAMINATION
r
During February of 1993, the soils which were contaminated by the LUST release, a
this site, were removed for remediation by re-excavation, Approximately 2,000 yards}
of soil were removed from the excavation.
The limits of the contaminated soils to be excavated were defined by exploratory
trenching and side wall sampling. The general outline of the contamination had been
defined by was
tted to San Joaquin Countyeifore. A report n June of 1990eling the results of
this survey as
subm
A map acid cross sections of the explorato:y trench is presented on Plates 4, 5 and 6. A
map of the remedial excavati:n is presented as Plate 7.
Definition of the limits of the contaminated soils was complicated, somewhat, by soil
discoloration due to the presence of native and human deposited carbonaceous material
-- - --
---
(peat and woad debris) Found during the course of the excavation.Because of this, a
large number o€ sidewal! samples-were-ta-ken-to_define-the-contamination limits. -
tabular summary of the sample results is presented in'fable 2.
 nna„1AR11
