PA-02-625 OF OLD GERMAN BAPTIST CHURCH (C/O VFW POST 1051) (FIFTH SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT) IT IS RECOMMENDED: That the Board of Supervisors accepts this report. BACKGROUND: On March 25, 2003,the Board of Supervisors denied the appeal of Janet Spkysma-Pilchard (C/O Ron Leachman) and upheld the Planning Commission's approval of Site Approval No. PA-02-625 to permit VFW Post 1051 to occupy an existing church building. As part of the approval of PA-02- 625 the Board of Supervisors added Condition of Approval 1.p. that stated that the Community Development Department would prepare reports for the Board of Supervisors at six(6) months and one year thereafter for three (3) successive years and present them to the Board of Supervisors at a publicly noticed hearing_ A six month report was presented to the Board of Supervisors on November 25, 2003. The Board of Supervisors determined that the facility could continue to operate with no special events permitted, and must complete paving and landscaping by January 31, 2004.The first yearly report was before the Board of Supervisors on March 9, 2004. The Board of Supervisors continued the item with the hearing open to July 13, 2004 to avoid hearing this item during budget hearings. On June 22, 2004, the Board of Supervisors received a letter from Janet Spyksma-Pilchard. This board letter addresses the issues that Ms. Spyksma-Pilchard raised in her letter as well as issues relevant to the required annual report. Because four months have elapsed since this report was originally scheduled to be heard by the Board of Supervisors,this letter serves to update the Board of Supervisors letter that was originally prepared for the annual report on March 9, 2004 REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: A building permit for grading of the parking lot was issued on January 13, 2004. The required paving of the site has been completed and the landscaping is in the process of being completed. The original enforcement case that was opened on the property has been closed.
