007
The final rate for Building A-S was 125 min/in. As noted on the Soil Analysis Report, the soil
texture at test depth for Building A-S is a clay(USCS =lean clay CL) with 50%clay and 18%
sand fractions, while soil at test depth for Building B-S is a clay loam(USCS =silty clay CL-ML)
with 35%clay and 27%sand fractions.
These differences in soil texture at perc test depth(a lower clay content and higher sand content
for Building B-S)may be a contributing factor as to why there is a significant difference(3x) in
perc rates between these two locations. In addition, it may be that some type of activity in the past
occurred in this A-S locale that created soil compaction characteristics, thus slowing permeability,
since it is adjacent to the Holly Commerce Center facility entrance and Holly Drive. As noted
below, the perc rates become significantly more favorable near the north end of proposed
Buildings A&B.
The final testing protocol was conducted on April 1 at the north end of proposed Buildings A&B.
Percolation rates obtained for both Buildings were identical at 35.7 min/in. As with the south
tests, these tests were conducted approximately 6.7-9.5 inches above the water table and again,
illustrate acceptable permeability under saturated conditions. 1
The Tables below summarize the data obtained from all the tests conducted.
TABLE 1
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS FOR BUILDING E&E WITH CORRESPONDING
TEST DEPTH ELEVATION, SOIL TYPE,PERCOLATION RATE AND ;
APPLICATION RATE IN GALLONS/FT2/DAY
24 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING,EL=6.54 83.3 min/inch / 0.123 gallons/W/day
SILTY CLAY LOAM(CL-ML)
36 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING,EL=9.19 50.0 min/inch / 0.311 gallons/fe/day !
SILTY CLAY LOAM CL-ML
Application Rates adapted from Table 3 of the OWTS Policy of the S WRCB and is correlated with the Perc Rate obtained.
TABLE 2
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS FOR BUILDING "A" NORTH/SOUTH TESTS I
WITH CORRESPONDING TEST DEPTH ELEVATION,SOIL TYPE,
PERCOLATION RATE AND APPLICATION RATE IN GALLONS/FT'/DAY
36 INCH DEEP NORTH PERC TEST BORING,EL=7.16 35.7 min/inch / 0.467 gallons/ft"/day
SILTY CLAY LOAM(CL-ML)
36 INCH DEEP SOUTH PERC TEST BORING,EL:9.27 125 min/inch / 0.100 gallons/ft2/day
LEAN CLAY CL
Application Rates adapted from Table 3 of the OWTS Policy of the SWRCB and is correlated with the Perc Rate obtained.
Page 2 of 3 I
Chesney Consulting
