Apex proposes to collect five sidewall soil samples from the, excavation as shown on Figure 3.
The five soil samples will be collected at ten feet bg, which is the soiUgroundwater interface. Two
groundwater samples-will be collected from the excavation also. The groundwater samples will
" be collected after the groundwater is removed from the excavation with the use of a vacuum
truck. Apex will also collect soil stockpile samples (one sample per 50 cubicyards of soil
stockpiled) for analysis. Based on 710 yards, this will be a maximum of 15 stockpile soil samples.
All soil stockpile and excavation samples will be submitted, under chain-of-custody, to a
state-certified,laboratory for analysis of: a) TPH, as gasoline; TPH, as diesel, by modified EPA
j' Method-8015; and b)BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8020.' All excavated soil will be
temporarily stockpiled on site, under and on plastic sheeting, pending receipt of the analytical
results."
All groundwater which enters the proposed excavation will be pumped out with the use of a .
vacuum truck. Two groundwater samples will be collected after groundwater recharges into the
excavation. The removed water will then be properly disposed of by a licensed hauler. After the
r. groundwater-is removed from the excavation, two groundwater samples will be collected from the
f groundwater that flows into the excavation.
k. During the proposed excavation, groundwater monitoring well MWA, vapor extraction well
VEW-I,.and air sparge well AS-1- will be removed with the use of the excavator(Figure 2).
REMARKS AND SIGNATURES
The interpretations and/or conclusions contained.in this report represent the professional.opinions
of Apex Envirotech, Inc.
