d
Third Quarter 1997 Groundwater Monitoring Report
F✓ Moore Petroleum,Inc.,5491 "F",Street,Banta,CA
September 17, 1997
Page 3
groundwater samples from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-6 in accordance to the Apex
SOP included as Appendix A. The samples were submitted, under chain-of-custody
documentation, to Sparger Technology of Sacramento, California, a state-certified analytical
laboratory. The groundwater monitoring well samples were analyzed for the following: 1) TPH,
as gasoline and diesel, by Modified EPA Method 8015; 2) benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
total xylenes (BTEX), by EPA Method 8020; and 3) methanol, ethanol, tertiary butanol, methyl-
tert-butyl-ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), and
tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), by EPA Method 8260. Analytical results of TPH as gasoline
and diesel, and BTEX are summarized in Table 2. Analytical results of MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and
TAME (oxygenates) did not identify these constituents above the laboratory detection limit. The
laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix B.
Based on the decrease of petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations from natural attenuation and
remedial operations, Apex proposes that groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-4 be the
only wells sampled during the next three quarters. In addition, since the above-mentioned
oxygenates were not detected above the laboratory detection limit during the July 29, 1997
sampling event, future sample analysis for these constituents will not be conducted.
REPORT DISTRIBUTION
{ Apex submitted copies of this report, in final form, to:
1.
