Soil cuttings generated during field
work will be placed in plastic bags and left near the probe locations.
At this time we propose to collect a total of eight soil samples, two from each of the four soil
probe locations. The samples will be submitted to a State certified laboratory for potential
analyses. Five of the soil samples will be submitted for selected analyses. Two of these samples
will be collected from the central boring advanced through the approximate former UST location
and one soil sample will be analyzed from each of the three perimeter probes. The five soil
samples submitted for analyses will be based on OVA readings and field obsearvatiorts. Three of
the eight soil samples wtil be put on"hold°'for potential analyses.
Task 3 -Chemical_An&sis
Aflea collection, each of the eight soil samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody fi xm,
and immediately stored in an iced cooler_ The soil samples will be transported to Kleinfelder's
office and then transported by courier in a sealed container to State certified laboratory. Five of
theme soil s mVles will be analyzed for the following:
« Benzene,Toluene,EflrAbenmc,Total Xylenes by EPA Method 5420[BTEX)
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as refem ed to Diesel [TPH-D]by EPA
Mediad 8015M13015
• Five Oxygenates(MTBE,TBA,DIPE,ETRE,and FAME)by EPA Method 5260
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as referenced to Gasoline [TPH-G] by EPA Mediod
8015M
The samples will be analyzed on a normal laboratory schedule requiring approximately two
weelrs (ten working days) for completion unless the optional rush analytical turnaround is
requested by the client at an additional charge.
Task 4--Reyo[Ugg
Upon completion of the field activities and receipt of the analytical results a report of findings will
be prepared for client and agency review. The report will include:
• A description of t1w field activities,observations, and protocols
• Tabulated results of soil samples with copies of certified results
A graphical representation of soil sampling locations
• Description and documentation of QA/QC procedures employed for field and laboratory
work
• Kleinl'eldees conclusions and recommendations based on the data acquired.
20-YP 1 56=011 P 131/201 lC 233 Page 3 of 7
C nfftbt2001,Kleinfelder,Inc.
