Ms. Margaret Lagorio, REHS
Mr. Michael Infurna, REHS
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
March 25, 1997
Page 2
In addition to the absence of contamination at the Property, parcels closer to Chevron's
pipeline with higher detections of hazardous waste have been granted regulatory closure as a
result of the insignificant environmental risk. For example, the Dividend Property which abuts
the pipeline from the south is 1000 feet closer to the pipeline than the Property, and has been
deemed to require no further action. Finally, Chevron's letter to Mr. Infurna confirms Mr.
Souza's position that no further work needs be performed at the Property (See, Chevron's
August 22, 1996 letter enclosed herewith).
Since the Property lacks any detectable levels of contamination as described above, Mr. Souza
requests that San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division, issue
a no further action letter for the Property. Please respond to this demand within ten (10) days
of the date of this letter (April 4, 1997).
Very truly yours,
za,
--G N A.
