Results indicated groundwater <br /> 4 contamination by lead, and soil contamination by lead and <br /> 5 copper. Maximum groundwater lead values of 0. 14 ppm were <br /> 6 detected. Maximum soil lead and copper values of 138 ppm and <br /> 7 3370 ppm (respectively) were also determined. These findings <br /> 8 were presented in a report dated 8 August 1986. <br /> 9 2 . 3 . 4 A public hearing was held 8 January 1987 at the LIKA <br /> 10 Corporation office. <br /> 11 2 . 3 . 5 A draft Remedial Action Plan (dRAP) dated 27 March 1987 <br /> 12 was submitted to the Department. Comments by the Department on <br /> 13 the dRAP were transmitted to LIKA on 24 April 1987. <br /> 14 2 . 3 . 6 Excavation of interior and exterior soil contamination <br /> 15 began on 9 April 1987 and continued through 27 May 1987 . <br /> 16 2 . 3.7 An addendum to the dRAP was submitted on 18 June 1987 . <br /> 17 This submittal addressed questions surrounding groundwater <br /> 18 contamination at the site. <br /> 19 2 . 3 . 8 Results from confirmation soil samples taken in April and <br /> 20 May of 1987 were submitted to the Department 17 August 1987 . <br /> 21 2 . 3 .9 Further investigation of groundwater quality and movement <br /> 22 at the site was initiated 24 August 1987 by LIKA. <br /> 23 2 .4 POPULATION AT RISK <br /> 24 2 .4 . 1 The LIKA-Field site is located in Stockton, California. <br /> 25 The population for the central metropolitan area is 181,600 <br /> 26 (California Statistical Abstract, 1986) .
