Filbert Street, Stockton, California.
Dear Ms. Oz:
On January 21 and 22, 1992, underground piping associated with
three former underground gasoline tanks was excavated and
removed from Del Monte's 110 North Filbert property in
Stockton, California (also known as the Disco property) .
Please find enclosed the following required documents:
• Analytical results (also mailed directly from the
laboratory to PHS) .
• Piping disposal receipt.
• Waste manifest for rinsate water.
The pipe excavation and soil sampling were performed according
to the Permit Application (December 3, 1992) and the Amendment
Letter (January 16, 1992) , both approved by PHS. The soil
sampling was performed by Bern Baumgartner/CH2M HILL and
observed by Ms. Carol Oz/PHS.
The underground gasoline and water pipes associated with the
former gasoline station were excavated by Peterson Engineering
of Sacramento, California.
Five soil samples were collected from the bottom of the pipe
excavation trenches (SP-1 through SP-5) , approximately two
feet below the excavated piping. Three soil samples were
collected from the excavated soil piles (ES-1 through ES-3)
(attached figure) . The attached table presents the analytical
results of the soil samples. Total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPH-gas) and benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and
xylenes (BTEX) were nondetectable for all soil samples, except
0. 011 mg/kg of toluene in sample ES-3 .
