R9 KLEINFELDER
transport to the analytical laboratory under chain of custody protocols. The borings will be
closed in accordance with San Joaquin County EHD guidelines by grouting to the surface. No
further concrete or asphalt patching is proposed to finish the probe locations at this time. Any
waste soil generated by the Geoprobe and rinseate water from the decontamination procedures
will be contained and left on site pending laboratory analysis of the soil samples.
A total of 3 soil samples collected from each of the 3 probe locations will labeled, logged on a
chain of custody, and stored in an iced cooler for transportation to the analyzing laboratory. A
total of 9 soil samples are proposed to be analyzed at this time.
At this time we propose to submit one (1) soil sample from the 5 foot interval , one (1) soil
sample from the 15 foot interval and one (1) soil sample from the bottom of the boring (25 foot
interval) in each sample location for quantitative chemical analyses from the soil boring.
Currently, based on our experience, we anticipate groundwater in the vicinity of the project site
to be present at a depth of approximately 80 feet bgs.
After collection, the soil samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody, and immediately
stored in an iced cooler. The 9 soil samples will be submitted to a State certified laboratory and
analyzed for the following analyses:
• Volatile Hydrocarbons by EPA Method 8260
• Fuel Fingerprint by EPA Method 8O15M
• CAM 17 Metals by EPA Methods
The samples will be analyzed on a normal laboratory schedule requiring approximately two to three
weeks (14 to 21 total days) for completion unless the optional rush analytical turnaround is
requested by the client at an additional charge.
12255.CW 1 /STO2R980 Page 6 of 11
Copyright 2002,Kleinfelder,Inc.
