• KLEINEELDER
7 ASSUMPTIONS
This workplan is based on the following assumptions and responsibilities:
• Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance
the push probes and collect samples at the proposed location. If the drilling equipment
cannot be positioned, alternative drilling locations or sampling methods should be
investigated.
• Soil and water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the responsibility of the
client. Soil cuttings and decontamination rinseate will be contained in labeled 55 gallon
drums and stored within the fenced area of the former Disco site located on Myrtle Street,
for subsequent later evaluation and disposal (at an additional charge).
• This workplan is based on the presumption that the client will clearly mark utilities and
will provide any and all available survey maps or other data to determine the location of
existing structures, underground utilities and services. Del Monte Foods should be aware
that penetrating the site's surface is inherently risky. It is impossible to determine with
certainty the precise location of all structures, which may be buried in the ground.
Kleinfelder's fee is not adequate to compensate for both the performance of the services
and the assumption of risk of damage to such structures. Disruption of utilities or damage
to underground structures will be the responsibility of Del Monte Foods. Services
rendered by Kleinfelder to repair them will be billed at cost. Underground Service Alert
(USA) at 1-800-642-2444 provides a partial location service free of charge for major
utility lines. It is important that Del Monte Foods understand that subsurface buried under
private property will not be marked by the public utility companies contacted by USA.
Kleinfelder can make contact with USA for a site visit, if requested.
12255.CW1 /ST02R980 Page 9 of 11
Copyright 2002,Kleinfelder,Inc.
