KLEINFELDER ATTACHMENT A SCOPE OF WORK Limited Soil Assessment and Geophysical Survey Former Car Wash/Potential UST Area Former Disco Site ("Area G") Stockton, California 1.0 INTRODUCTION This proposal was developed after discussion with Ms. Kelly Lynch of Del Monte Foods, and is a preliminary understanding of Del Monte Food's desires. Kleinfelder is committed to providing quality service to its clients, commensurate with their wants, needs and desired level of risk. If a portion of this proposal does not meet the needs of Del Monte Foods, or if those needs have changed, Kleinfelder will consider appropriate modifications, subject to the standards of care to which we adhere as professionals. Modifications such as changes in scope, methodology, scheduling, and contract terms may result in changes to the risks assumed by Del Monte Foods as well as adjustments to our fees. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK 2.1 Pre-Field Activities It has been Kleinfelder's experience that this proposal contains sufficient detail and information to be submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) to review and approve a boring/well permit. Kleinfelder can prepare a boring permit application, and a proposed boring location map for submittal along with this proposal to PHS/EHD (without cost estimate). Additionally, the permit must be approved prior to advancing the borings. Following obtaining approval from the PHS/EHD, Kleinfelder will commence with the actual assessment. Please note that Kleinfelder can not commence with the actual field work until the proposed scope of work and the PHS/EHD permit have been approved. Additionally, PHS/EHD will bill Del Monte Foods for their time spent on the project. The geoprobe subcontractor will contact Underground Service Alert 48 hours prior to conducting fieldwork to notify local utilities of our proposed subsurface assessment. 2.2 Geoprobe Investigation The Geoprobe investigation will be focused on the former car wash facility located near the eastern portion of the Disco site. The investigation will be a limited soil assessment of the soils directly below the footprint of the former car wash. Kleinfelder proposes to advance a total of three (3) soil probes to a maximum depth of approximately 25 feet below the ground surface (bsg).
