19 September 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 03-1043 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> Prior to sample collection, Geoprobe soil sampling equipment was thoroughly rinsed with,clean <br /> water after being washed with a solution of Alconox. Geoprobe rods were thoroughly cleaned prior <br /> to soil probe boring advancement. All CME-75HT augers were thoroughly cleaned prior to probe <br /> boring advancement. <br /> ANALYTICAL METHODS <br /> The collected soil samples were transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech Environmental <br /> Laboratories (CTEL), a California Department of Health Services-certified laboratory, for analysis <br /> far: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH-all) in'accordance with EPA.Method 8015M, and <br /> • Volatile organic compounds,including benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX), <br /> and the fuel additives tertiarybutanol(TBA),di-isopropyl ether(RIPE),ethyl tert-butyl ether <br /> (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), methyl tertiary- butyl - ether (MTBE), <br /> 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8260B. <br /> Soil samples from the pad mounted transformer area were analyzed for polychlorinated biphenyls <br /> (PCBs)in accordance with EPA Method 8 08 1. <br /> In. addition, selected soil samples from soil borings in the northern boundary and the "low lying" <br /> areas were analyzed for CAM 17 metals in accordance with EPA Method 6010. <br /> The collected ground water samples were transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech <br /> Environmental Laboratories (CTEL), a California Department of Health Services-certified <br /> laboratory, for analysis for: <br /> • TPH-all by EPA Method 8020 in accordance with EPA Method 8015M; <br /> • Volatile organic compounds,including benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX), <br /> and the fuel additives tertiarybutanol(TBA),di-isopropyl ether(RIPE),ethyl tert-butyl ether <br /> (ETRE), -tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), methyl tertiary- butyl ether (MTBE), <br /> 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8260B; <br /> • Cam 17 metals in accordance with EPA Method 6010 and <br /> • Hexavalent chromium by EPA Method 7196. <br /> Advanced CeoEuvironmentW.Inc. <br />
