(AGE) has prepared the <br /> enclosed work plan addendum for the former Del Monte Foods Unit E,near the comer of Filbert and <br /> Myrtle Streets, Stockton, California. The scope of work includes advancement of up to three soil <br /> borings utilizing auger-drilling techniques. <br /> The objective of the investigation is to assess ground water for potential contaminant impacts to the <br /> site from operations of the former Del Monte plant that were adjacent to the southwestern and <br /> western boundaries of Unit E. On 08 August 2003,AGE attempted to sample ground water at these <br /> boundaries utilizing Geoprobe techniques, as specified in the original AGE-prepared Phase II Site <br /> Assessment Work Plan, dated 17 June 2003; however, refusal was encountered at approximately <br /> 20 to 25 feet above the water table. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is a vacant property that was formerly the Disco Warehouse; it is located at the intersection <br /> of Filbert and Myrtle streets, in an area of mixed commercial and light industrial use (Figure 1). <br /> Features on the property include a vacant building, an asphalt-paved yard area, and a "low lying" <br /> area immediately east of the Disco Warehouse (Figure 2). <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> AGE proposes to advance up to three soil borings using four-inch hollow stem augers to collect <br /> ground water samples; the proposed borings will be advanced to a depth of approximately 65 feet <br /> 837 Shaw Road,Stockton, California 95215 <br /> Telephone (209) 467-1006 FAX(209)467-1118 <br />
