KLEINFELDER 5 MONITORING RESULTS i I The depth to groundwater was measured in each monitoring well included in this event. The depth to groundwater data was converted to elevation in reference to mean sea level for the calculation of groundwater flow direction and gradient. The 13 groundwater samples were submitted under chain-of-custody procedures-to Sequoia Analytical Laboratories of Sacramento, California. Table 2 is a summary of the analytical results for groundwater. For a complete report of the analytical results please refer to the chain-of- custody hain-ofcustody forms and laboratory analytical reports included in Appendix C. 5.1. WATER LEVELS On July 29, 2003, all 20 monitoring wells and 3 piezometers were sounded for depth to groundwater. On July 29, 30, 31, and August 1, 2003 10 of the 20 monitoring wells and each of the 3 piezometers were sampled (see Section 4). The depth to groundwater ranged from 43.54 feet below the top of well casing (T.O.C.) to 53.02 feet below T.O.C. The groundwater elevations ranged from —32.93 feet msl to —33.51 feet msl at the site. The groundwater gradient was calculated to be relatively flat at 0.0004•feet/foot, and a general direction of flow to the east/southeast. Plate 3 shows the interpreted groundwater contours. The reported groundwater flow direction has been consistent with the historical data collected at the site. It should be noted that local groundwater in the vicinity of MW-11s, MW-1 ld and MW-14 ` was shown to be relatively elevated above other nearby monitoring wells. The localized j groundwater mound may be a direct result of the air and ozone sparging activities directed in this area.
