M
t
E
KLEINFELDER
5.2. ANALYTICAL METHODS AND REPORTED RANGES
Each of the groundwater samples collected were submitted for analysis. The following is a list of
the requested analyses and the reported ranges for groundwater samples obtained from the
monitoring wells sampled;
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline [non-detect< 50 µg/1 to 160,000 µg/1]
• Benzene [non-detect <0.50 µg/1 to 25,000 µg11.]
• Toluene [non-detect < 0.50 µg/1 to 46,600 µg/1]
• Ethylbenzene - - [non-detect < 0.50 µg11 to 3,300 gg/1]
• Xylene [non-detect <0.50 µg/1 to 22,000 gg/1]
• 1,2 DCA [non-detect <0.50 4g/1 to 3,100 µg/1]
• EDB [non-detect<0.50 µg/1 to 1,200 µg/1]
• TBA [non-detect <5.0 µg/l to 11 µg/1]
• MTBE [non-detect<0.50 4g/1 to 0.64 gg/1]
• DIPE [non-detect <0.50 µg/1]-
• ETBE [non-detect <0.50 µg/1]
TAME [non-detect<0.50 gg/1]
For a summary of analytical data for the analytes listed above, please see Table 2 behind the
"Tables"tab of this report.
TPH-g was detected in 5 groundwater samples analyzed from MW-1, MW-2, NPI-70', 80', and
90' ranging from 340 µg/1 to 160,000 µg/1. Similarly, BTEX compounds were detected in the
same groundwater samples collected ranging from 1.7 µg/1 to 46,000 µg11 (Toluene). TPH-g and
BTEX compounds were not detected in 8 of the groundwater samples collected.
1,2-DCA was detected in 7 of the 13 groundwater samples. The detected concentrations ranged
from 0.51 µg/1 (MW-DIS-12) to 3,100 µg/1 (NP1-801). The detected concentration of 0.51 µg/1
was .just above the laboratory reporting limit of 0.50 µg/1. The.detected concentrations of 1,2-
DCA exceeded the Primary Maximum Contaminant Level (PMOL) for 1,2-DCA of 5 µg/l in five
of the samples (MW-DIS-1, NPI-90', NPI-80', MW-DIS-11s, MW-DIS-15). 1,2-DCA was not
detected in 6 of the 13 samples collected.
EDB was detected in the groundwater samples collected from NPI-80', and NPI-90' with
concentrations of 1,200 µg/l and 90 µg/l respectively. EDB was not detected in 11 of the 13
samples.
MTBE was detected in MW-DIS-14s with a concentration of 0.64 µg/1. The Primary Maximum
Contaminant Level (PMCL) for MTBE is 13 µg/l and the Secondary Maximum Contaminant
Level (SMCL) for MTBE is 5 µg/1. The detected concentration of MTBE in MW-DIS-14s does
not exceed the PMCL or the SMCL for MTBE this quarter. There were no detectable
concentrations at or above the laboratory reporting limit for the oxygenates MTBE, DIPE, ETBE,
and TAME in the groundwater sample collected from MW-DIS-15 this quarter. PMCLs are
12280.MON/ST03R1392 Page 10 of N
` ®2003,Kleinfelder,Inc October 13,2003
