KLEINFELDER
• ETBE by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1]; and
TAME by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1].
A summary of analytica[ data is presented in Table 3.
5.3 SOIL GAS MONITORING RESULTS
The air samples were collected and analyzed for the performance evaluation of the
catalytic oxidizer. The results showed inlet concentrations of TPH-g and benzene with
concentrations of 360 ppmv and 0.091 ppmv, respectively. The results of the outlet
sampling showed TPH-g and benzene at concentrations of 2.1 ppmv and non-detect,
respectively. The destruction efficiency of the catalytic oxidizer was calculated at 99%.
The volume of TPH-g and benzene removed this quarter reflects a decrease versus
past results. The total estimated pounds of TPH-g removed during Kleinfelder's
operation of the system are approximately 25,854 pounds (per date of the sampling).
Photoionization detector (PID) readings were recorded from VE-1, VE-2, VE-3, VE-4,
VE-5, and the mainline before and after the dilution valve on July 22, August 26, and
September 29, 2005. The PID readings ranged in concentrations from 126 ppmv to 359
ppmv in the VE samples, and 181 ppmv to 344 ppmv in the mainline samples.
5.4 DWR WELL DRILLER LOGS REVIEWED RESULTS
Kleinfelder conducted a water well survey within a 2,000-foot radius of the site to
ascertain whether any new wells have been installed and are pumping. DWR Well
Drillers Logs were reviewed and showed no new water wells or multiple pumping wells
within the 2,000-foot radius of the site. The seasonal fluctuations of groundwater
elevations may be linked to naturally occurring rainfall/recharge, and/or groundwater
extraction practices near the site. In areas of such flat gradients, slight changes in
groundwater elevations can affect the groundwater flow directions. The groundwater
elevations at the sight typically range between much less than a foot.
12280.MON/ST05R1424/cD:ly Page 11 of 14
02005, Kleinfelder, Inc. November 15,2005
