KLEINFELDER
5 MONITORING RESULTS
The depth to groundwater was measured in each monitoring well included in this event
except for MW-DIS-4, due to an obstruction. The depth to groundwater measurements
were converted to MSL elevation to estimate the groundwater gradient.
The thirteen-groundwater samples were submitted under chain-of-custody procedures
to Sequoia Analytical Laboratories of Sacramento, California. Table 2 is a summary of
the analytical results for groundwater. The chain-of-custody forms and laboratory
analytical reports are included in Appendix C.
5.1 WATER LEVELS
On August 29, 2005, 19 monitoring wells (excluding MW-DIS-4) and 3 piezometers
were sounded for depth to groundwater. The depth to groundwater ranged from 44.46
feet below the top of the well casing (MW-DIS-11 s) to 53.67 feet below the top of the
well casing (MW-DIS-14d).
Groundwater elevations for the monitoring wells ranged from -33.56 feet MSL (MW-DIS-
6) to —34.12 feet MSL (MW-DIS-13). The groundwater gradient was estimated to be
east/southeast at 0.0004 ft./ft. Plate 3 shows the interpreted groundwater elevation
contours. Table 2 presents the recorded groundwater elevations on August 29, 2005 and
past monitoring events.
5.2 ANALYTICAL METHODS AND REPORTED RANGES
Thirteen groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis. The following
is a list of the requested analyses and the reporting limits for groundwater samples
obtained from the monitoring wells and piezometers this quarter:
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline
by EPA Method 8015M/8021 B [non-detect < 50 pg/1 to 20,000 pg/1];
• Benzene by EPA Method 8015M18021 B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/I to 200 pg/1];
Toluene by EPA Method 8015M/8021 B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/I to 200 pg/1];
• Ethylbenzene by EPA Method 8015M18021 B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/I to 200 pg/1];
• Xylene by EPA Method 8015M18021 B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1 to 200 pg/1];
1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1 to 50 pg/1];
EDB by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1 to 50 pg111;
• TBA by EPA Method 82608 [non-detect < 5.0 pg/I to 500 pg/1];
• MTBE by EPA Method 82608 [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1];
DIPE by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1];
I
12280.M0NIST05R14241CDJv Page 10 of 14
©2005, Kleinfelder, Inc.
