v
2
not certain we can survive. Businesses like ours generate substantial tax revenue
to federal, state and local agencies. Requiring a masonry wall serves no purpose at
all other than an expense to us and is a hardship.
The site IS large enough to accomodate our rental trucks and we so indicated on
the drawing submitted. This is a large site with more than adequate room. We need
the U-Haul income desparately and need to ocassionally accomodate the number of
trucks indicated for short periods of time.To simply have a planner make a flat
statement that the site is not large enough is wrong and unfair. I was required to
submit a drawing to show the site was large enough and IT IS. I am able to have an
architect/engineer so prove and would like thst opportunity - if ,necessary.
My business generates one hell of a lot more tax,-revenue than the adjacent house
in this low income area. Further, we have been a good and thoughtful neighbor and
the adjacent resedential property owners have submitted statements in our application
that the current slatted fence is adequate as far as they are concerned.
Further, all government:agencies need to be ocassionally reminded that they are
supposed to be servants of the people and work for the good of the people. Simply
making rules that serve no real good, kill business and have no flexibility serve
no one and make no sense. It would seem that government should bend to accomodate
business and the goose that generates it pay check. In a construction handbook, I have
seen the definition of a "strike". It is defined as "An attempt to improve egg
production by strangling the chicken". Abiding by the rules and denial of my
application, gentlemen, is strangling my business and our ability to generate tax
revenue. I respectfully request that my application be reconsidered.
Yours truly,
Gurpal SIDHU
Waterloo Feed and Fuel
3032 E.
