David Hamlett (3434 Forest Drive, Stockton) said he is against the <br /> project. It will lead to more crime and prostitution and will <br /> devalue property. <br /> Manuel Barragan (6812 N. E1 Dorado, Stockton) said this project <br /> will have a bad effect on Stockton. <br /> Vicki Brand (2222 E. Acacia, Stockton) said she is concerned about <br /> the children. Approval of the project will open the door to other <br /> juice bars. <br /> Jim Allen (2629 Waterloo Road, Stockton) , the owner of the EI Rey <br /> Mobile Home Park, is against the project. He said traffic would be <br /> a problem. A lot of large trucks travel down Waterloo Road. <br /> Hope Starr (1050 Sullivan, Stockton) said the church has helped <br /> her. It has taught her respect. <br /> Becky Pott (2101 Sutro Avenue, Stockton) , principal of August <br /> Elementary School, was opposed to the project. <br /> Loyce Marie Barragan (68 N. El Dorado, Stockton) was opposed to the <br /> project. <br /> Maria Moore (1048 S. Shasta Street, Stockton) , a substitute <br /> teacher, was opposed to the project. <br /> Kathryn Mecca (P. O. Box 77863 , Stockton) said Findings 4 and 5 <br /> cannot be made. This project will lower property values and is not <br /> compatible with adjoining land uses. If the project is approved, <br /> it should be reviewed every six months to see if the business <br /> should remain. <br /> Roxanne Grey (721 N. Commerce, Stockton) said she is a member of <br /> the church on the project site. The church has helped her. <br /> REBUTTAL: <br /> Ron Stein said the church is leasing on a month to month basis. <br /> They are not purchasing the property. The juice bar applicants <br /> will not post any signs reading "nude dancing. " This is a Site <br /> Approval and not a Use Permit. This use is allowed in this area. <br /> He agrees to a six-month review period. They are going to purchase <br /> the property. The site will have security. There will be no <br /> noise. They will put up a sound wall. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING CLOSED: <br /> Commissioner Morri said the Sheriff 's Department is opposed to the <br /> project because there will be increased crime.
