C - -
I I
1.2 Scope of Work
Four areas were identified in the previous investigation to be above SJC action level
Cof 100 mg/kg for TPH. These areas are shown on Figure 2. The soils in these areas
were excavated on November 14 and 15, 1995 using a backhoe, then were
stockpiled on plastic sheeting and covered with plastic sheeting. Four other areas
I
C were noted as having significant surface staining, although TPH concentrations were
below the SJC action level.
r
L In areas with TPH concentrations above the SJC action level, confirmatory samples
C were collected from the excavation floor and /or sidewalls to determine if the TPH-
impacted soils had been removed. Confirmatory samples were not collected from
excavations at surficially stained areas which did not have concentrations above the
CSJC action level. Stockpiled soils were sampled and analyzed prior to disposal at a
Clicensed Class II landfill. The excavations were then backfilled with clean soil and
compacted.
IC
 C
 C
C
C
C
C
C
CAMAIMFMC150421FMC RM.DOC 1-2
C
9
WIN HYDRO'SERRCH, nG A Tetra Tech Company
