O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Quarterly Monitoring Report, April 1993 through June 1993, Site Code 1102,
Smith's Canal Pump Plant, Fontana Street and Smith's Canal, Stockton, CA
Dear Ms. Turkatte:
is r This letter report summarizes groundwater monitoring activities at the above referenced site
(Figure 1) during the second quarter of 1993. These activities included monitoring fluid levels
in all site wells and collecting groundwater samples for laboratory analysis.
FIELD WORK
On June 9, 1993, static fluid levels were measured in monitoring wells MWl, MW2, MW3, and
MW4. The water table had decreased an average of 1.15 feet since the previous quarter. Table
-•-- ".....-
1 summarizes the water level data collected this quarter and provides previous data for
comparison.
Water level measurements collected during this quarter indicate groundwater flows northwest,
which is consistent with historical data. A groundwater gradient map was created using data
collected from the June 9, 1993 monitoring event (Figure 2). The figure, created using a
kriging program, depicts a northwesterly gradient of approximately 0.048 feet per foot
(approximately 250 feet per mile).
Petroleum product sheen was observed in well MW4. No product was recoverable during the
reporting period. Since May 25, 1992, approximately 3.6 liters of free product have been
QRT RRLY12 QMR 1993.FNL
fo0
