s
RECEIVED
AUG 0 8
WOOIsey 011, Inc. ENv1Rot'JMENTAg'
Cbev
ronjobber PERMIT/SERV) FAL TFi
166 FRANK WEST CIRCLE, STOCKTON, CA CES
Linda Turkatee
P. O. Boa 2009
1601 Hazelton Ave a
Stockton, CA 95201
RE:Site Code 1103
Dear Linda,
 mpYe Fivjlv
si die dec re - . - —
clean. The reasons for this request are based on the logic that the hazards and risks are
minimal, and don't justify the outlay of cash to try and prove an" unlikely situation. Here are
the details: 1
1. A professional site assessment will cost$10,000. i
2.A monitoring well with samples will cost at least$4,000.
3. Costs on this project have exceeded by far the $10,000 deductible limit for pollution
clean-up. The additional costs for this project drain the fund needed to approach real
and proven problems, rather than chasing improbable problems that have unlikely
risks.
4. The limits discovered at the site show there was very little contamination to start with.
Over allovation of the area produced only 55 yards of contaminated soils for all eleven
tanks combined. The existing contamination, by location, would indicate that it was
caused by overfilled tanks, and therefore would not have a large enough supply to reach
the water supply.
5.We are located in an city incorporated industrial park, supplied by city water So,there is
no or little risk to the public.
Because of the high economic costs to explore a very unlikely outcome, I am asking that you
review the situation here at our business, and grant the request that the site be released.
In response to your inquiry about the final location of the contaminated soils excavated,
Woolsey Oil, Inc. disposed of approximately 55 yards at Forward, Inc. on April 4, 1990. Their
invoice for this disposal is#2698 dated 7-4-90.
Singelely,
Bruce Woolsey
CEO
209 948-9412 800 3782
