_ 404 WEST FREMONT STREET <br /> WKA No 1628 04 <br /> November 19, 1996 <br /> Page 2 <br /> The submersible pump was cleaned with a solution of Liqui-nox and water prior to purging each <br /> well to minimize the potential for cross-contamination All water removed during sampling and <br /> purging operations was placed in sealed and labeled 55-gallon drums and stored on site <br /> Analysis of water samples MW2, MW3 and MW6 revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH <br /> or BTEX The one exception for the above four wells was a trace concentration of Xylene <br /> reported in well MW6 <br /> Concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the water samples from wells NMI, <br /> MW4 and MW5 Review of historic data reveals decreasing TPH as gasoline concentrations in <br /> MW 1 but increasing concentrations of TPH as gasoline in MW4 and MW5 A summary of <br /> analytical results for ground water samples obtained from the six on-site monitoring wells are <br /> included as Table I Complete analytical reports and chain-of-custody documentation are <br /> included in the appendix <br /> I <br /> Because of the increasing TPH as gasoline concentrations in MW4 and MW5, the stability of the <br /> groundwater contaminant plume is in question As a result, SJCPHS has required a detailed <br /> workplan outlining remediation feasibility testing and additional investigation This workplan was <br /> submitted to SJCPHS June 5, 1996 with an addendum submitted August 12, 1996 The workplan <br /> was approved on September 9, 1996 The proposed work will begin in October of 1996 <br /> The next quarter of ground water sampling is scheduled for November, 1996 Our report for next <br /> quarter will be transmitted upon completion of laboratory testing <br /> Wallace uhl& Associates, Inc <br /> Krt Balasek <br /> emor Hydrogeologist <br /> KB EH sdm <br /> Copy to Mr Steve Sasson, San Joaquin County <br /> • KNCrysta111628-04 QT5 <br /> WALLACE•KUHL <br /> Recycled paper &ASSOCIATES INC <br />
