f <br /> ! <br /> .w <br /> A. <br /> ! <br /> I/moi <br /> WALLACE • KUHL Aril 4, 1995 <br /> &ASSOCIATES INC p <br /> Mr Steve Sasson <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> P O Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, California 95291 <br /> DRUMMED GROUND WATER DISPOSAL <br /> 404 WEST FREMONT <br /> Stockton, California <br /> WKA No 1.628 04 <br /> Dear Mr Sasson, <br /> We learned recently that ground water generated during sampling activities at the <br /> above-referenced site was incorrectly disposed of into the stormwater system instead <br /> of the sanitary sewer system The incident occurred when our personnel mistakenly <br /> operated under the belief that the stormwater drain was part of a combined <br /> stormwater/sanitary sewer system The authorization to dispose of the drummed <br /> water into the sanitary sewer was provided by Mr Larry Williams with the City of <br /> Geotechnical Engineering Stockton Municipal Utilities Department during a telephone conversation on <br /> September 9, 1994 Mr Williams also requested a letter transmitting a site plan <br /> Engineering Geology <br /> along with our latest test results, which we provided <br /> Environmental Consulting <br /> On September 29, 1994, we then emptied 15 full or partially full drums <br /> Remediation Services <br /> (approximately 725 gallons) into the storm drain identified on the attached Plate 1 <br /> Construction Inspection The drums contained purge water generated during development and sampling of the <br /> F six onsite monitoring wells between December 1992 and August 1994 A review of <br /> Materials Testing <br /> the test results of water samples collected during quarterly sampling events indicates <br /> that the average total petroleum hydrocarbon concentration at the time of placement <br /> into the drums was 1660 ug/l as gasoline, the average benzene concentration was 235 <br /> r 3050 Industrial Blvd ug/l A summary of test results of water samples collected during quarterly sampling <br /> West Sacramento <br /> of the wells is included in Table 1, chain-of-custody documents and laboratory <br /> CA 95691 reports are included in the Appendix <br /> r Fax 916 372 2565 <br /> 916 372 1434 <br /> RecycL,d paper <br />
