WORKPLAN FOR SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> CRYSTAL CREAMERY - STOCKTON <br /> 404 West Fremont <br /> Stockton, California 95203 <br /> ' WKA No 1628 01 <br /> May 9, 1991 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> We are submitting this workplan for the definition of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil <br /> located beneath the subject property at 404 West Fremont, Stockton, California (Plate 1) <br /> t Contamination was discovered during the removal of one 10,000-gallon unleaded regular <br /> gasoline underground storage tank Our firm has been retained by Crystal Creamery to <br /> provide consulting services for definition and remediation of the contaminated sods The site <br /> ' is owned and operated by Crystal Creamery, 1013 D Street, Sacramento, California 95814 <br /> ' Site Description and History <br /> The subject property is occupied by a Crystal Creamery distribution facility Crystal Creamery <br /> has owned and operated the facility since 1965 Prior to this date the property was owned <br /> by Clover Leaf Dairy which operated a dairy processing plant on site The property is bounded <br /> in the westerly and southerly directions by vacant lots and the northerly and easterly <br /> directions by West Fremont Street and Van Buren Street, respectively The property is mostly <br /> paved with asphalt A building occupied by American Protective Services is located on the <br /> ' northern part of the property A refrigerated warehouse with a loading dock is located in the <br /> southern portion of the property The former underground tank was located between the two <br /> ' buildings as shown on Plate 2 <br /> Mr Steve Jerkins of Crystal Creamery was interviewed by telephone on April 29, 1991 <br /> ' regarding historical information on the underground storage tank previously removed from the <br /> site He indicated no specific knowledge of existing records of tank maintenance, leaks, spills <br /> or accidents He also indicated that he had no personal knowledge of fill or use records <br /> ' Previous bite History <br /> One 10,000-gallon regular unleaded gasoline storage tank was removed from the site on <br /> ' September 3, 1986 Soil samples collected from beneath the tank by Michael Ramos, <br /> immediately following tank removal, revealed total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) <br /> concentrations ranging from <20 mg/kg to 3,600 mg/kg (Table 1) <br />
