Two soil bonngs will be drilled to an anticipated depth of 20 feet below surface grade using a
truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 6-Inch diameter hollow-stem augers Two soil borings will
be drilled to an anticipated depth of 30 feet below surface grade and one boring will be drilled to
an anticipated depth of 40 feet below surface grade using a truck-mounted drill ng equipped with
8-inch and 10-inch diameter hollow-stem augers
Soil samples will be obtained at maximum intervals of five feet and at changes in lithology, using a
modified California sampler equipped with clean, two-Inch diameter, six-inch long brass tubes,
samples and drill cuttings will be described in the field using the Unified Soil Classification System
(USCS) The samples will be screened In the field with a photoionization detector (PID) to
evaluate potential hydrocarbon content and to assist in selecting soil samples for laboratory
analysis, if warranted The sample tubes will be sealed with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps to
reduce volatile hydrocarbon loss The soil samples will be stored In an ice chest containing ice
and submitted under chain-of-custody to a California-certified laboratory for analysis of Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline using Modified EPA method 8015 and Benzene, Toluene,
Ethylbenzene, and Xylenes (BTEX) using EPA method 8020
WALLACE KUHL
Recyded paper 6 ASSOCIATES INC
