k" KLEINFELDER
File No . 20-2182-24
February 20, 1990
3 . The aggregate base should be compacted to a minimum
of 95 percent of the ASTM D-1557 test density.
4 . The aggregate base and asphalt concrete pavement
materials should conform to the specifications stated
in Sections 26 and 39 , respectively, of the State of
California Standard Specifications, latest edition.
5 . Pavement sections are prepared assuming that periodic
maintenance of pavements will be done, including
sealing of cracks and other measures .
6 . All curbs surrounding landscape areas should be
embedded at least 6 inches below subgrade to minimize
the movement of moisture beneath pavements .
Percolation Test Results sy<-,. rco<
One approximate 3-foot deep percolation test was performed on each
lot. The test holes were drilled and cased with slotted PVC pipe
on January 25, 1990 . The percolation tests were performed by
filling the test holes to the surface with water and allowing them
to soak overnight. On January 31 and February 1, 1990, our
representatives performed the tests according to San Joaquin County
guidelines . The tests were performed for periods of from 30
minutes to 4 hours . The last 30 minutes of each test were used to
calculate the percolation rates . Our measurements indicate
percolation rates of from 20 minutes per inch to no percolation
(water level did not drop in last 30 minutes of test) . The results
13
