County Environmental Health Department, and work proceeded
with the Phase I portion of work on November 4, 1991.The following report summarizes the details of our findings.
i
PROJECT HISTORY .
The project site is currently developed as the PG&E Stockton Service Center facility. Please refer to the Site
• I
Vicinity Map included as Figure 1 at the end:of the text.A portion of the subject property is developed with an 80
foot wide by 140 foot long garage structure. At the southern end of the.garage structure were situated three
underground storage tanks and a dispenser island.
On or about October 16, 1991,three underground gasoline-storage tanks were excavated and removed from the site.
The tanks were described as one 12,000 gallon an&two 5,000 gallon capacity.Soil samples were obtained from beneath
the removed storage tanks for chemical.analyses in accordance with the guidelines of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. Soil samples were obtained at the depths, frequency and locations specified by the
Health Department. Additionally, excavated soils from the tank removal operations were stockpiled at.the.site,and
were also sampled and chemically analyzed.
The results of chemical analyses conducted.on soil samples obtained from the site reported the presence of petroleum
1
hydrocarbons as referenced to gasoline.Soil samples from native soils beneath the underground tanks reported total.
petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH)as gasoline ranging from.non-detected to 2.6 parts per•million(ppm) concentrations,
with benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenesreported in the same samples at:concentrations of less than.0.3 ppm.
TPH concentrations reported.in samples obtained from the stockpiled soils ranged from non-detected to 400 ppm.
PG&E Stockton Service Center
00160-290-042
