County Environmental Health Department,and work proceeded <br /> with the Phase I portion of work on November 4, 1991.The following report summarizes the details of our findings. <br /> i <br /> PROJECT HISTORY . <br /> The project site is currently developed as the PG&E Stockton Service Center facility.Please refer to the Site <br /> • I <br /> Vicinity Map included as Figure 1 at the end:of the text.A portion of the subject property is developed with an 80 <br /> foot wide by 140 foot long garage structure. At the southern end of the.garage structure were situated three <br /> underground storage tanks and a dispenser island. <br /> On or about October 16, 1991,three underground gasoline-storage tanks were excavated and removed from the site. <br /> The tanks were described as one 12,000 gallon an&two 5,000 gallon capacity.Soil samples were obtained from beneath <br /> the removed storage tanks for chemical.analyses in accordance with the guidelines of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department. Soil samples were obtained at the depths,frequency and locations specified by the <br /> Health Department. Additionally,excavated soils from the tank removal operations were stockpiled at.the.site,and <br /> were also sampled and chemically analyzed. <br /> The results of chemical analyses conducted.on soil samples obtained from the site reported the presence of petroleum <br /> 1 <br /> hydrocarbons as referenced to gasoline.Soil samples from native soils beneath the underground tanks reported total. <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH)as gasoline ranging from.non-detected to 2.6 parts per•million(ppm) concentrations, <br /> with benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenesreported in the same samples at:concentrations of less than.0.3 ppm. <br /> TPH concentrations reported.in samples obtained from the stockpiled soils ranged from non-detected to 400 ppm. <br /> PG&E Stockton Service Center <br /> 00160-290-042 <br />
