Initial Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tanks, Appendix A, Tri-
regional Recommendations for a Problem Assessment Report (PAR) . The PAR is a
pro-active investigation designed to evaluate the spatial distribution of f
petroleum hydrocarbons in subsoil and groundwatl'ler with an objective of obtaining
sufficient data to evaluate site-specific applicability of migrating and remedial
+ alternatives.
The scope of services to accomplish this investigation will include the
following tasks:
ii
ro Additional research and review o,f pertinent, readily available
4.
geologic and hydrogeologic literature, review previous site studies,
review of local water wells and local businesses.
o Obtain the necessary permits prior to commencement of the field
portion of the investigation.
i
o Drill one additional soil boring and sample the subsoils for
lithologic evaluation and chemicalland microbiological analyses.
C
o Install, develop and sample two additional groundwater monitoring
wells.
Ii s
o Conduct a survey of installed wells', to e's' tablish groundwater depth,
gradient, and direction of flow.
o Chemical analysis of groundwater sI Ales to assess the presence and
concentration of petroleum constituents.
'I
o Preliminary in-situ testing of aquifer characteristics utilizing
slug-testing methodology.
o Report preparation
I
LI +
1
E
CHEVMERC.H50 5 4
I`
1
