However the <br /> chromatographic pattern of the sample does not match the pattern for the standard. This result is commonly <br /> a result of either the presence of another hydrocarbon mixture which shares some of the same constituents as <br /> the hydrocarbon mixture being tested for,or the sample being tested has been altered by time,exposure to the <br /> elements,and/or biological activity. <br />
