7.0 Decontamination Procedures
r
Decontamination will take place in the decontamination area identified on-site. A
decontamination station will be set up to decontaminate sampling equipment and personnel. The
`r station will include at least two 5-gallon buckets; one filled with a clean water and soap mixture
and the other with clean water. A temporary decontamination pad with a rinsate collection
system will be set up to decontaminate trucks and excavation equipment leaving the
contamination reduction zone and to decontaminate equipment between sample locations. A
r
steam cleaner will be used to decontaminate reusable drilling equipment and vehicles.
All site personnel will utilize decontamination procedures that minimize,to the extent practical,
the amount of wash/rinse waters generated at the Site. All workers and PPE will be
decontaminated to prevent the spread of hazardous materials. All workers will wash up
` appropriately after removing PPE and prior to leaving the immediate work area and the Site.
Disposable Tyvek®/cotton coveralls will not be worn off-site.
Support vehicles are to be left, to the extent practical, outside of the exclusion area so that
decontamination will not be necessary. All equipment that accesses off-road areas known to
. contain contaminated soil or liquid must be decontaminated before leaving the Site. All rented
equipment that comes in contact with a contaminated media(soil or liquid) must be
decontaminated before it is returned to the vendor. Reusable sampling equipment will be
decontaminated prior to and after each use with a non-phosphate detergent(Liquinoxo) and
water solution and rinsed with deionized water to prevent cross-contamination.
Disposable items will be bagged for disposal. All site personnel will minimize, to the extent
practical, the amount of disposable waste generated at the Site. All disposable sampling
equipment will be rinsed with water and managed as non-hazardous waste. Rinsate from
+v
decontamination will be collected and stored on-site in 55-gallon drums or a portable
polyethylene tank.
All soil material will be drummed for short-term containment on-site, sampled and labeled as
waste unless otherwise determined to be non-hazardous based on the laboratory results. All
wastes will be properly managed and disposed by the Company.
w
wcDP-N:ICons Ii g%,i i.S—,AProject L-J71778407.—d— 7-1
12IWo
v
