On-site Recycle: Used antifreeze that will be recycled at the site of <br />generation is an "excluded recyclable material" and should be stored in a <br />Hazardous Waste Storage Area or a Workplace Accumulation Area. Ensure <br />that the used antifreeze meets the on-site recycling provisions (see "On -Site <br />Recycling") <br />• Off-site Recycle/Disposal: Used antifreeze that will be transported off-site <br />for recycling or disposal is a hazardous waste and should be stored in a <br />Hazardous Waste Storage Area or a Workplace Accumulation Area. See <br />Appendix IV -A for further information pertaining to hazardous waste <br />storage. <br />Labeling: • Reuse: Antifreeze that is to be reused is not a waste, and therefore, should <br />not be labeled with a Hazardous Waste Identification Label. <br />• On-site Recycle: Used antifreeze that is to be recycled on-site should be <br />labeled as an "Excluded Recyclable Material" instead of "Hazardous <br />Waste.114. An example of the label is included (Fig. IV -Al). <br />• Off-site Recycle/Disposal: Used antifreeze that will be transported off-site <br />for recycling or disposal must be and labeled with a Hazardous Waste <br />Identification Label. <br />• Used antifreeze, which is to be recycled or disposed of, must be labeled <br />when it is first placed into a Hazardous Waste Storage Area or into a <br />Workplace Accumulation Area.5 Also, it must be labeled in accordance with <br />other applicable regulations (e.g., 0SHA)6.
