D. Adjoining Land Uses:
The property is bounded by West Lane on the west, West Lane Bowling on the
south, Southern Pacific railroad on the east, an unnamed, paved, country road
on the northeasternly direction and the "Yard -in -Garden" store on the
northwesternly direction.
E. Prevailing Wind Direction:
The prevailing wind direction is from the north except prior to or during a
storm when the prevailing wind direction is from the southeast.
F. Spill Potential:
The inventory of oil -filled equipment and hazardous material storage
containers is presented in Table 3-1. The equipment and containers are
described in detail in Section 4. Spill prevention techniques currently
utilized and the potential for oil spills are also discussed in the following
section.
Underground Fuel Storage Tanks
The Stockton Service Center is equipped with the following underground
fuel storage tanks for refueling fleet vehicles:
2-5000 gallon unleaded fuel tanks
1-12000 gallon unleaded fuel tank
1-2000 gallon diesel fuel tank
The highest spill potential associated with the fuel tanks is from
over -filling during the pumping process. Spill prevention consists of
constant supervision during the filling/draining process. By 1987, each
tank will also be equipped with a 20 gallon overfill box which is product
tight to contain spills due to overfilling. The spill volumes associated
with the filling/draining process are small, 0-5 gallons, and in highly
visible areas. Maintenance personnel are instructed and prepared to
attend to these spills immediately should they occur.
ii. Underground Waste Oil Tanks
There is a 1000 gallon underground waste motor oil holding tank located
at the southwest corner of the Auto Repair Shop. It is used to hold
waste motor oil until the oil is picked up by an approved purchaser.
This is a 10,000 gallon underground waste transformer oil holding tank
located near approximately 40 feet west of the east fence. It is used to
hold non -PCB contaminated waste transformer oil until the oil is picked
up by an approved purchaser. This tank will be removed from service
during 1987 and replaced by a new 2,000 gallon tank.
REV. 11-87
3-4
