Wildwood LNG Demonstration Facility
8.1.6 Wells
There are no reported wells within 150 feet of the proposed project although a pump station
extracting water from the irrigation ditch is located within that distance. The project will not
utilize septic tanks, leach lines or seepage pits, so the impact to ground water is non-existent.
8.1.7 Cultural or Historical Resources
Because the project site is located on land that has been previously developed for agriculture, it is
not anticipated that any cultural or historical resources will be disturbed. The overall size of the
proposed project site is small (about 1/4 acre) and it will be located adjacent to existing roads.
There are no reports of cultural or historical elements on the site. ,accordingly, impacts to
cultural or historical resources are not expected.
8.1.8 Noise
Noise from the project is likely to be fi•om the engine-generator set and the nitrogen compressor.
The engine-generator set is enclosed within a container and is rated at 85 Dba 25 feet from the
unit. The compressor is rated at 85 Dba at ten feet. In addition, the entire site wil' I_, enclosed
within a chain link fence fitted with security slats. The anticipated noise 1evel it .he overall
project boundary is expected to be less than 65 Dba. The nearest receptors are more than 1,200
feet from the facility; thus the impact of noise on the surrounding area is expected to be
negligible. The facility will meet the appropriate County noise standards.
8.1.9 Hazardous Materials
With the exception of the flammable feed gas and product LNG, the only hazardous materials
associated with the project are engine lubricating oil, both new and used, and ergine radiator
fluid. The new products will be stored in drums on the site within approve' double containment
vessels. Similarly, the used oil drained periodically from the engine crankcase will be
temporarily stored on site in a double contained facility. Used oil will be removed from the site
by a licensed waste hauler for destruction or recycle. MSDS s'.ieets for thr-c material:, will be on
site.
8.1.10 Fire Safety
The project will comply with the provisions of the 1997 Uniform Fire Code. In particular,
adherence with the provisions of Article 82 of the UFC that deals with liquefied gas is required.
Because the facility will be considered temporary and because there will be no inhabitable
structures on site, permanent fire protection in the form of a water supply (tank or pipeline) will
not be required, and portable extinguishers are considered sufficient by the Fire Marshal's office.
8.1.11 Traffic
During the anticipated 5-week construction of the facility, it is expected that six to ten round trips
to the site per day may result from the delivery of construction supplies and equipment and
AES Construction Group
Page 15
