1.3 The AE System <br /> This section provides brief descriptions of the AE <br /> system, its components, and optional equipment under _ <br /> the following headings: rt - <br /> General AE System Components <br /> AE Optional Equipment �`- <br /> s q . <br /> r <br /> n <br /> 1.3.1 General AE System Components <br /> The AE System (see Figure 2. AE-1 & AE-4 System) is <br /> an on-site mixed oxidant generator. The rated capacity F <br /> of the AE-1 system is 1.0 pounds (0.45 kilograms) per day <br /> of free available chlorine (FAC); the rated capacity of the <br /> AE-4 system is 4.0 pounds (1.8 kilograms) FAC per day. The <br /> systems are designed for easy salt loading and can <br /> operate for hundreds of hours on a single loading of salt. Figure 2. AE-1 & AE-4 System <br /> The unit operates automatically and is self-diagnosing. <br /> The AE system is to be installed by MIOX Corporation or by technicians trained by its <br /> representatives. The following components depicted in Figure 3. AE Series General <br /> Components, describe the AE System. <br /> Water Filter - This 5-micron external pleated cartridge filter removes all particulate matter from <br /> the water feeding the water softener and AE system, protecting the system from damage. The <br /> filter housing and filter cartridge are supplied by MIOX Corporation and are required for system <br /> operation. The filter housing allows for filter change-out or filter cleaning. A 10 inch (0.25 <br /> meter) industry standard filter and filter cartridge are supplied. <br /> 10" industry standard filter housing, Part #6000-634; 5-micron pleated filter cartridge, Part <br /> #6000-805 <br /> Water Softener- The external twin-tower water softener is included in the system package and <br /> is required to maintain the system warranty. A water softener will extend the life of the <br /> electrolytic cell and help insure proper system operation. Water softeners are recharged with <br /> brine from the brine tank. A CC208s water softener with micro nozzle is standard along with a <br /> #3 metering disk. Water softeners are down-flow service units that are hydraulically driven, <br /> requiring no electrical connections. A check valve is provided for use on the brine <br /> regeneration line. MIOX Corporation supplies a meter disc with the softener.
