Weber Street
Stockton, CA 95201
Soil and Groundwater Modeling Report, Site Code 22073
Van den Bergh Foods Company, Stockton -
Dear Ms. Meays:
On behalf of Van den Bergh Foods Company, we have attached, the Soil and Groundwater Modeling
report for the subject site. The modeling results predict that the residual TPH as diesel impacted soils at
the site would contribute a maximum average TPH as diesel groundwater concentration of 44 pg/L in the
vicinity of the source, as shown in Figure 4 of the subject report. This contribution would reduce to less
that 5 pg/L TPH as diesel within approximately ten years.
Based on the historical sampling information, and the predicted-mass loading from the vadose zone, this
site does not appear to limit the beneficial uses of the regional aquifer. In addition, since TPH as diesel
is the only contaminant of concern at this.site, and average groundwater concentrations do'not appear to
poses a risk to human health and the environment, we are recommending that this site be closed, and no
further corrective action be required. 'We would like to request immediate suspension of the quarterly
groundwater monitoring requirement for the site, and upon receipt of your concurrence, Van den Bergh
Foods Company will proceed with well abandonment activities prior.to formal site closure.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Should you have any questions, please call Mr. Frank
Yoneshige at (209) 466-9580 or me at (510) 372-5253.
Sincerely,
Linus Farias
Project Manager
MZ/VDBF/96-0022.LTR ;
Attachment
cc: Ms. Elizabeth Thayer, Central Valley RWQCB
Mr. Frank Yoneshige, Van den Bergh Foods Co. _
Mr. Bud Kopp, Van den Bergh Foods Co. :
p l>
i
IT Corporab'on is cr wholly owned subsidiary of raster OVOnd Technology Corporation
.. v
