The contaminants which may be present on site that have been determined by the State to <br /> ' cause cancer include <br /> • benzene <br /> • 1,4-dichlorobenzene <br /> • diesel exhaust <br /> • gasoline engine exhaust <br /> • silica <br /> ' In addition, the following contaminants on site have been determined by the State to cause <br /> reproductive harm <br /> • toluene <br /> 3.2.2 Vehicle Traffic <br /> The project worksite is surrounded by areas that may experience heavy industrial vehicular <br /> traffic Both equipment and personnel entering and leaving the site are at risk of being struck <br /> by oncoming traffic There will also be traffic within the site due to vehicles and equipment <br />' involved in the site sampling and investigation. Personnel and vehicles may potentially be <br /> struck by equipment Both vehicle and pedestrian traffic are expected to be minimal within <br /> the site <br /> 3.2.3 Materials Handling <br />' Loading and unloading materials and setting up and dismantling equipment presents a vanety <br /> of hazards. These include cuts, abrasions and lacerations from sharp objects, back injuries <br /> from poor lifting techniques, crushing injuries from falling or moving loads, pinch points, and <br /> being struck by moving equipment or loads <br /> 3.2.4 Excavation Hazards <br /> The hazards associated with excavations include the risk for personnel to be struck by heavy <br /> equipment or loads and the hazards of falling into unguarded excavations.
