Ms Shelby Lathrop - 2 - 23 April 2009
Former Tosco Bulk Termin&, o. 10013
Groundwater underlying the Site is polluted with dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons.
Constituents of concern (COCs) include total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
(TPHg), TPH as diesel (TPHd), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether
(DIPE), and tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA). TPHg was non-detect (ND) in all but one well,
MW-3, which contained 77 micrograms per liter (pg/L) of TPHg. The highest
concentrations of TPHd and TBA were 200 pg/L and 220 pg/L, respectively, in MW-2.
MW-17B had the highest concentration:of MTBE at 18 pg/L. These concentrations are
consistent with historical values.
We concur with the Response, so ConocoPhillips may proceed with the work described
in the Work Plan, as modified by the Response.
