Site Code: 1782
1401 Fremont St W
Stockton CA 95203
The work as proposed in WorkPlan forPlrrcing Tw Crmnd=terMonitoring Wells dated April 28,
2000 prepared by Wm J.Hunter&Associates (Hunter) was implemented on August 15,
2000 at the above referenced site. Based on field observation and data from a photo-
ionization detector(PID),San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental
Health Division (PHS/EHD) agreed with the Hunter's assessment that the contamination in
groundwater and possibly also in the soil reaches at least as far north as Monitoring Well#5
W-5),which is located at approximately 102 feet north of MW-2, and therefore additional
MW would be needed to determine the lateral extent of the groundwater contamination to
the north, and to generate inferred isoconcentration lines of the plume required for the
calculation of the contamination mass balance remaining. Installation of an additional
monitoring well on the same day results in considerable cost savings compared to re-
mobilization to install a well at a later date. As a result,PHS/EHD directed an additional
monitoring well be installed to the north of MW-5.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran, REHS,Directors
Environmental Health Division
G'
Jeffrey Wong , REHS Margaret Lagorio,RENS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region- Marty Hartzell
c: SWRCB,UST Cleanup Fund Program- Sandy Gill
c: Wm J.Hunter&Associates — Bill Hunter
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
